occasional screen flicker

Would love to know why the occasional screen flicker occurs
and what might be causing it.
Happening on not really running much.
 
Flaky monitor.
Flaky monitor cable.
Flaky monitor power cable.
Flaky video card.
Flaky video card seatment in the AGP slot.
Flaky power supply...

I'm mostly sure I narrowed it down to a
MySQL tray monitor running.
A screen of garbage text was in it, just noticeable
as it went past. Haven't had the problem since
I closed it.
