I just found this newsgroup. I am fairly new to PC, and
get alot of emails that the attachments are done in PP.
I use windows XP HE and Outlook express 6, can someone
tell me exactly what is PP? (I'm trying to determine if I
really need it). Can I purchase it on line?
I would really appreciate some help on this. Thankyou

PowerPoint is a presentation software by Microsoft. You can purchase on
Ebay.com, BestBuy.com or any other online and offline store for the
most part.

I also use http://www.openoffice.org presentation software which is
free and includes software to read powerpoint presentations.

You can also download the microsoft viewer to view the powerpoint
slides sent to you...

I'm new to this forum as well... welcome.

The PowerPoint Viewer is free. The new 2003 version is now available from
Microsoft. Go to www.microsoft.com and search for "PowerPoint Viewer 2003."

If you have the Viewer, you don't need to buy PowerPoint unless you want to
create or modify PPT presentations. The Viewer can only view them.

You can buy PPT anywhere, including online. It's a standard Microsoft
product, available either standalone or as part of most (all?) Microsoft
Office suites.

As you assume you need to make a purchase, why have you
not contacted your local computer shop who sells Microsoft
products for costs, availability and other information?

You can only get that information from them.
