I am a new Xp user and since changing I cannot obtain the above, ( such as
Macromedia Flash) I am on AOL Broadband and have tried all ways, including
the so called AOL helpsite, but to no avail. For some reason it refuses me to
use the activeX which I need, I think!
Any advise would be gratefully received!

Hi John :-)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Check out the following information IE & AOL Flash
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/instructions/streaming.html
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Macromedia_Flash_Player_for_Windows_IE_AOL/964714156/1

also..

The browser version you're running must support 128-bit encryption or
secured pages will not display correctly.

Check your firewall settings. You may need to add the Macromedia site to
your Exclusions list. Also try adding it to your Trusted Zone.
Internet Explorer 5 Power Tweaks Web Accessories (XP too)
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/previous/webaccess/pwrtwks.mspx

Check you Security settings to Medium for Internet Zone

Hope this helps.
