Been playing all day ... no crashes, no freezing ... I've only been killed a few 'undread times.

Well it works for now ... I did get really annoyed and uninstalled it, ready to sell too, but I tried again.

Nothing has changed, it still does not know what graphics card I have but tells me I have a 7600GT, which is correct. Sad aye.

But yesterday I played for most of the day with no bother, no crashes, no freezing and quite enjoyed myself. :D


I take three steps foreword and do a 'quick save' ... may take some time to complete this game.

So what are the main problems everyones getting, and is there a patch to stop it?

I dont want to buy it and not be able to play it.

If there are any patches, I've missed them, non I can see ... It's a PC "game" what do you expect? :D

Actually, there are a lot of reports that the thing even crashes on the XBox.

There are a few patches that help.
on bit-tech.net go to the Oblivion review, page 3, last paragraph. they have some LOD fixtures that help with view distance so instead of seeing a big blurry landscape blob, it will be replaced by a high def version :D
i have yet to get it, but there is almost no frame rate hit at all

Thanks for that Alf ... still no 'problems' and I'm closing gates as fast as they open. :D

Oh, there is one ... if I quite without going to the main menu first, I get an MS error that this program did not close properly and to send off a report to MS ... but that's all so far.


Getting pretty good at staying alive too.

does anyone know of a mod or something that requires you character to eat and drink in order to be in top condition? :)
 
I dont think i had a problem stayin alive, unless i chose a weaker race... and was foolhardy... and wore broken armor...and was cursed. :D

I'm getting a little confused with all these "side quests" that I'm just trying to follow the main plot for now, I'll go back and do some later. :)

Sure, buy 15 spare mice (or maybe 50) ... 'cos you gonna frag the living daylights out of the mouse you got.

I have a dent in my desk where the mouse is, from continually 'clicking' the left button ... occasionally I remember to block something with the other button.

I'm an expert at sneak though ... I can get right next to some munsters and whack the crap out of them ... amazing how far across the room they go.
