Oblivion setup.ins problem

I'm trying to install The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. When I insert the disk
the autorun kicks in and the installation procedure starts. Nearly
immediately I get a dialog box that asks me to insert Disk1 or specify the
location of the file "setup.ins". The games is only one disk and when I
explore the disk manually it only shows the autorun file which is about 1KB.
However if I right click on the drive and click "properties" it says the disk
contains 300MB of used space. This number is way too low. I've tried using
the Bethesda(manufacturer) forum but there are others that are having the
same problem with no solution in sight. Does anyone have any thoughts?

So far I've tried cleaning out the temp files, renaming the Installshield
folder, closing all startup progams, and tried installing it with two
different DVD drives.

Hi scorp1227,

Try installing the game on another system. If you experience the same
issue, then I would suspect that you'll have to have the CD replaced
by the manufacturer. They *might* be aware of this already.

Hey I have had the same problem. I tried the game on another system and even
returned the game and got a new copy. No Luck. Still trying to get the game
to work.
