I don't know how many of you use ccc, or have upgraded to the suggested .Net
2.0 for the latest drivers/ccc from ATI, and play Oblivion lots and lots,
but - wow, has my crashes dropped WAY-DOWN since updating to .Net 2.0.

I caught a thread in the Elders Scrolls user group talking about this, and
after running .Net 2.0 for over 3 weeks now, I can attest to the improvement
of my computer running Oblivion.

If you are sticker for running the latest drivers for your video cards, be
sure to update to .Net 2.0 as ATI suggests, it's worth the trouble.

William.

William.

I play Oblivion on a 7900GT so don't need or want .NET. The game crashes
sometimes when quiting nthe game but at no other time. This used to happen
in Oblivion when I was using an X800XL so obviously the problem lies with
the lazy bastards at Bethesda and not my PC.

First of One

I'm running v1.1FinalEnglish Official and v1.3.0 Unofficial Oblivion Patch.
I installed both of those patches to get past a hang-up on Mystery at
Harlun's Watch. Neither did the trick, but I did find a code to put into
the console mode that did the job for me.

I noticed a big difference installing .Net 2.0 over .Net 1. Most of my
crashes occurred when clicking on the map - not any more. However, I still
on occasion get a crash on quitting the game, but not as much. I'm not the
only one who has noticed this and posted on it.

Their are a number of other programs that use .Net besides ccc. I have it
on my system anyways for other programs I use. So it's not .net I don't
like, it's the way ATI uses it that I don't like. Like WHY? Why run such
overhead bloated code to run a driver interface? What happened to LEAN AND
MEAN code. .Net is for programs that use Internet communications as part of
its functions. Why CCC????

Thanks for the help.

If you think CCC is bloatware wait until you get Vista (if you do), it
is an absolute pig of an OS.
