I am interested in having some opinions on using an OPF on the compact
framework on top of MSSQL CE? Our application like many others operates in
a disconnected state. The host data is "relational" (not object oriented
database) Oracle, and we'd like to use MSSQL CE as the local database (also
want to remain relational). The "work" to be completed by an individual is
downloaded to the PDA. I'm thinking about an Object Persistence
Framework, but maybe thinking that it'll be too top heavy.
Our host application will eventually be re-designed from an ancient
development environment, so my thought process is that we could use some of
the work and possibly the OPF as well on the host environment too. The
businessrules that are encapsulated in the business objects could be
re-used.
The data has to be persisted on the PDA, and from what I've seen so far is
using a Dataset could become very clumsy. Opinions on this?
To sum up, I'd like to hear your opinion on using an OPF on the compact
framework, and if you have links to existing OPFs for the compact framework
I'd be interested in taking a look at them.
thank you!
