I have a user who picks up this error message "Object doesn't support this
property or method," whenever he opens up an excel document. He doesn't know
what he did to create this situation. I've never seen this error message
before. I've uninstalled and reinstalled excel and it still gives the same
error message in excel on his PC. I have checked out the community website
postings. I couldn't any solutions that I could understand. How do I get
rid of this error without being a scripting expert?

This is likely to be a faulty add-in rather than Excel itself

Open Excel. (If it won't, open it in safe mode (Start>run...>Excel.exe
/safe)) and go to tools>add-ins... de-select all and restart Excel. If all
is OK then add them back, one by one, closing and opening Excel each time,
until you get an error

Thank you. I followed your instructions exactly. I opened excel in safe
mode and cleared the lone add-in, Crystal Report Wizard 10. I then opened
excel in the regular mode, and still received the same error, "Object doesn't
support this property or method." I clicked OK, and then clicked tools, then
add-ins, and cleared the Crystal Report Wizard 10 add-in. I exited excel.
Then I opened excel again. This time excel opened with no difficulty. The
faulty add-in was the Crystal Report 10 Wizard. My next question is how can
this be corrected? Should I uninstall and reinstall Crystal Reports? Or is
there an easier method?

Now you're outside Excel. You could try an uninstall/re-install of Crystal
Reports or get on their web site and see if they have an update.
