I create for example an ordinary hover button on a page -
when I preview, it is not visible, not even in the
browser. Can somebody help? I am using WinXP with OfficeXP
with FrontPage.

Requires a JAVA Engine - not installed by default in Win XP
- your users probably won't have it either or will block JAVA for security reasons

XP with IE6 does not have Java Virtual Machine installed,
which is required for hover buttons.
People have to go to Sun Java and download and install it.

For this reason most people no longer use hover buttons.

fyi: JVM and javascript are two entirely different things.

An ordinary hover button is a Java Applet. Since removing the Java Virtual
Machine from Windows operating systems, by court order, Java applets don't
work on a lot of machines. My advice is not to use them.
