don't put any information on their website, especially you phone number, 'cos the buggers will use it to phone you.

I wonder if this call was acually o2? The reason I say this is that there are a lot of underhand companies calling up mobile customers and pretending to be from one of the big name networks. I know a couple of people that get loads of calls from someone that sounds as if they are from Orange, but when pressed it turns out they are only trying to sell and orange service, but hide this fact.

BTW, have you filled in the telephone preference service form? I think it may have been you that told me about this in the first place, but may be worth mentioning in case others haven't heard of it: http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/
 
been having a spot of bother with my BT modem re-booting and V-R's post reminded me to take another look at any new 'suppliers' in my area ... so

go's to BEs site & sticks in me phone number to see if I can get their servis, yes, I can ... however, I don't think I will bother

coincident no, I don't think so and I really do hope they recorded my 'conversation' with the I-had-trouble-understanding-the-Indian-accent sales guy

TPS should be an opt out, not an opt-in ... spam is spam, no mater what form it takes. :mad:

Ah, didn't realise that and it does seem like one heck of a co-incidence! :( I hate phone spam even more than e-mail spam!

It's a shame, as I've always found o2/Be broadband really good.
 
I had a call on my BT phone the other day...

Me: Hello?
Me: Hello?
Me: Hello?

Pause

Caller: Hello?
Me: I just said that
Caller: Pardon?
Me (sigh): Hello
Caller: Which gas and electricity suppliers are you using?
Me: What the **** has that got to do with you?
Caller: Pardon me?
Me: I said what the **** has that got to do with you?
Caller: Which gas and electricity suppliers are you using?
Me: Go away, fool
Hang up the phone.

I know I could stop these calls but it almost gives me some perverse enjoyment winding them up :D
 
Your phone conversation just brought a smile to my face FBS, I can imagine the confused look on the phantom callers face lol.
