件å : Access 2000 Find/replace and filter error
日時 : 2004年1月16日 5:51

I can see the data in the table's fields. But when I
use "find/replace" or filter to locate the information in
the text field, the information is not found.

For example, the text field contains: H123
I use find and type in H123, and the pulldown options are
set to search the entire table.
The search never locates the field containing H123.

Any idea why?

I can think of two possible reasons:

1. H123 in the table has one or more spaces at the end which you can't see.
This is a very common situation when importing data from text files / other
systems. To verify, edit that field entry and check if the cursor can
actually be placed further to the right. If that's the case , looking for a
whole field match won't pick it up, while looking for an any part of field
match will.

2. Any chance you're working on a multi-language machine, and one H is
english while the other isn't? they may look the same, but they represent a
different ASCII or Unicode code, so Access can't match them!
