Please help, baffled by Outlook Express problem.
The software/hardware installation was problem free on
both computers, one with xp pro, the other with m.e.
Internet works fine on both, however, Outlook Express no
longer works on either. I'm really surprised that this
issue isn't addressed in the user's guide, and even more
surprised that it is a problem at all. I expect using
Microsoft hardware instead of say LinkSys or D-Link, to
have no problems integrating with Windows operating
systems.
Thanks, Ryan

you need to use the fully qualifed domain name in the mail servers fields.
it's probably setup as just mail or pop or smtp. you need to change it to
the full address of your ISP's mail servers, like mail.someplace.com - check
your ISP's help pages

This issue is not addressed on the Shaw.ca website. They
don't want to encourage home networking I suspect. One
can hang on the phone for ages waiting for assistance
from them. In my shawmail properties under the servers
tab, my incoming (pop3) and outgoing (smtp) mail is
shawmail. Are these the fields that I change to the
FQDNs, or is there more to it than that?
Thanks again, Ryan

yes! try pinging or tracerting to shawmail and see if you get more info.
