XP Organisational charts seem to auto-resize fonts

Is it possible to retain font size? as i can with charts

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Jethro,

You can turn of this behavior for a given chart by doing the following:

1) Click on the chart
2) In the "Organization Chart" command bar choose "AutoLayout" from the
"Style" menu

This turns off the "AutoLayout" behavior for the chart (which is turned on
by default). This is a "toggle" command so you can turn AutoLayout back on
by simply repeating the two steps above.

Try turning off the "autolayout" option on the Org Chart (Diagramming)
toolbar.

thanks both, thats great - i notice, in this mode i have to resize the
textboxes manually too, but i can live with that (or more correctly, my
students can)

is there anyway to switch off autolayout by default?

see i have to set up a classroom of machines - i can set it up in a template
for students to use - i just wondered whether it was buried in
tools/options?

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the specific capability that you are looking for.
Although some defaults can be customized (such as using the Options dialog)
other defaults (such as AutoLayout setting in diagrams) are built-in and
cannot be customized and require manual or VBA workarounds.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint should
provide more control over various default behaviors, settings, etc.
(without have to resort to VBA or 3rd party add-ins), don't forget to send
your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
