Why won't windows allow the installation of Nvidia 7 series drivers above
series 7.15? I'm operating a fully vista compatible hp 7680y media center pc,
4gigM, 2.40 GHZ X2 CPU'S and 7950GT graphics card. I've been trying to
install winvista driver 162.22 forceware winvista 32bit english WHQL to no
avail. I do a lot of flight simulator stuff. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

I very seriously doubt that that article or the fact that he has 4GB memory has
anything at all to do with his problem.

My guess is that he has not disabled the on-board video adapter on his
motherboard or he has not rebooted since uninstalling previous nVidia drivers
and the new nVidia drivers can not detect the presence of an nVidia card.

Many people extract the upgrade files to a special folder and then run setup
to install the drivers. I tried that about 4 times. It doesn't work anymore.

You "must" allow the install program to extract the files to the folder that
the installer lists by default. Do not change this path. Then setup will
continue. After you reboot you can delete the install folder that the Nvidia
setup created.
