can anyone please advise on a way to reduce/adjust the amount of system ram
my nvidia geforce fx5200 is using please? it is a 128mb card but always
shares 256mb of my total 1gb ddr2 system ram, which i would prefer to set to
128mb sharing only. i am running vista ultimate oem, with intel duo core
2x2.80ghz, with dual displays @ 1440x900 resolution each.
any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
thanks!!

thanks, an improvement on the first response. i dunno what it means, but
thanks anyway!

Exactly. The turbocache & hypermemory should never have been done. A 256MB
card sounds attractive at $60, but when you find that it only has 64MB
onboard, and uses your system RAM as the rest, it really sucks.

It's a setting on the video card itself. I'm not sure if it's user
manageable, though. It has the 128MB of dedicated memory, but uses system
RAM also. Do you still have the manual that came with your card?

It means that some of its ram is on-board and the remaining ram is system
memory. AKA Turbo cache.

It's almost as stupid an idea as Vista.

The only thing you can do about it is get a video card that does not use
turbo cache.
