nvidia geforce4 mx 440

hello everyone.
i clean installed windows XP and everything works fine but
my graphics card. i installed the drivers and everytime i
do i still get the same error "the device cannot open
Error 10" i've tried everything i could think of, and i
have directx9.0a.
anyone have any ideas or know where to point me?

Do you still have the box the computer came in? If so your in luck.

(1) Pack up the computer.
(2) Return to vender.

You clean installed XP, did your graphic work ok before
you installed the drivers? Try downloading the newest
version of the drivers from www.nvidia.com

Maybe your all drivers don't work with XP.
 
Just to but in, I have exactly the same problem !! I
have downloaded all the correct drivers from the nvidea
site but it still does not work - any more ideas??

(An extreme long shot)

Have either of you gentlemen tried:
(1) Testing the AGP card in a different computer...
(2) Removing/reseating the AGP card in your own computer...
(3) Checking the BIOS to ensure that the primary video adaptor is set to
AGP, as opposed to PCI (if applicable)...
(4) That there is only ONE instance of the graphics card installed in DevMgr

Just throwing out some thoughts.
Please post follow-ups.
