I have old Nvidia geforce 4 ti 4200 graphic card and win XP with SP2
integrated. During win installation stock nvidia 56.73 driver was installed
(integrated in SP2). I want to know, if is this driver good for playing old
games (such as GTA San Andreas). There is no nvidia control center, so there
are poor possibilities to change 3D settings, but it doesnt matter, because
this computer is intended to be a low end playing maschine for my younger
brother. But I want to know if this driver provide identical performance like
original nvidia driver (for example 56.72 or 56.64).Thanks

Newer driver --> identical or better performance (as a general rule).
Latest/last version from Nov 06 is at
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71_2.html (for US English). For
more details on changes to newer driver versions, hit the Nvidia forums.

Gamers almost always get the latest driver for their video card unless they
read on their particular game's forums they should use a different version.

My opinion - get the latest nVidia driver.
