A patch for the NVidia driver was listed as a critical
patch in a recent list of automatic updates on my PC.
Foolishly, I, having an NVidia video card, installed the
patch as instructed. I am now completely unable to get
any display on the screen after Windows has loaded.
(Note that the familiar graphics do display while Windows
is loading, but at the point where I would normally go to
the login screen, my monitor goes completely blank.) Is
there any way to get my display back or is it just time
scrap Windows altogether and install a copy of RedHat?

.
Try booting to safe mode (hold down F8 key when
restarting) once in safe mode uninstall the updated
driver from your control Panel, HTH Dave.
