Hi, I am running vista x86 perfectly with my fx7900gtx and the new vista
drivers however when I tried to install the same release drivers (the 64bit
versions rather than the 32bit ones tho) I get a nice black screen on
rebooting.
To then get back into vista I have to do a rollback however at that point
vista is using the standard vga adaptor drivers and thus byebye aero and
decent resolutions.
Anyone have a work around for this or seen this happen too?

My system specs btw are::
Amd FX57
Dfi Lanparty NF4 Sli-Dr
Nvidia Fx7900 gtx
2 gig ram
2* Seagate H/drives
1* Maxtor Drive
Creative X-Fi Fatality edition (have that working perfectly so shouldnt be
linked to that)

Cheers, Ads

I think there's a conflict with your monitor. An easy way to tell would be
to disconnect the monitor during boot, come back in 3 minutes or so and if
you have a logon screen then that was the issue. I'm dealing with this,
have submitted a bug report and hopefully next driver release will have this
fixed for me (fingers crossed).

If you are running Vista X86 Beta 2 on a 64 Bit system then why do you
think that that 64Bit drivers for your graphics card would work at all?

If you were running Vista X64 Beta 2 then and only then would I think that
the 64 bit drivers would work.

Maybe I misunderstood your post If so please let me know what I
misunderstood.

JW, you did misunderstand me, soz,
I have both the x64 and x86 versions of vista, the x64 version seems to
dislike my graphics card (or monitor, need to check that) but the x86
versions works fine (using the x86 drivers).
Unfortunately I removed my x64 install when I installed the x86 version of
vista so you'll have to wait a couple of days Bob T until I can see if your
idea helps but cheers for the suggestion.
Am running an apple cinema HD 23" monitor atm, had issues running it with my
old x800pro as the g/card didnt seem to like working with it unless I was
actually running xp pro (ie no bios startup or windows starting screen
viewable). I think it runs dual link dvi, possibly connected to this issue?
Many thanks,
