Recently I installed the recommeded 91.31 video driver from the nvidea site
for my 6600 gt video card. I now am receiving upon every boot-up a notice
that SLU multiple-GPU rendering has been disabled. I am running the 6600 gt
on an a8n-e motherboard which only has the capability to run one video card
at a time. Did I error in loading this driver under win xp?. If not what
have been the experiences of others with this driver in similar computer
onfigurations?

It's a bug in the drivers. I didn't know that it would affect a non-SLI
mainboard, but it's not a major surprise that it does.

The error message goes away with the 91.33 driver:

ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/91.33/

(It's nominally a beta version.) You could also try the 91.37 beta drivers,
but you'd need one that was hacked to support a 6600GT:
