Can anyone tell me what "nutkb.exe" is? It keeps trying
to make changes to my startup. The file is in the
C:\WINNT\Repair folder. I can't find ANYTHING anywhere
about this file. Also had an "iisdos.exe" trying to do
the same and I have found that it is a DoS attack. Is
nutkb.exe associated with this? I deleted the file and it
stopped trying to make changes to startup. I still have
the file in case it is some Windows file. Any help would
be appreciated.

Virus/worm/malware programs often create files with random names to make
them harder to detect. If a Search of Google turns up nothing that is
probably the case. Try scanning your computer for both viruses and
parasites. Be sure to use the latest definitions for each product downloaded
from the vendors website. AdAware is a good free product for parasite
detection and removal. If either type of program identifies an infection,
then you can search Google for that name for further instructions on how to
remove the infection if the antivirus or parasite removol program can not do
it themselves which may require a specialized tool. --- Steve

Steven,

Thanks for the info. I run Norton and am current and I
also have AdAware, nothing identified by either. However,
I like the idea about the random name from a worm or other
malware. I will keep researching and also see if I can
open it in Wordpad and scrub the coding and see if I can
identify anything. Thanks again.
