Hi,

When my Windows 2000 pro boot to the logon screen,
the NumLock light on the keyboard suddenly turn to "off",
I have checked the motherboard BIOS and the setting is correct
"Boot up NumLock - ON"
The NumLock is ON when the computer is switched ON, but right before
it boot up to the logon screen, the light turn itself off ...
anyone got any idea ? are there any setting in windows 2000 for NumLock ?
Thanks

Steven

Windows 2000 ignores the bios on this issue.
Set the Reg_Sz string value of
"InitialKeyboardIndicators"="2"
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard
will set the numlock to "On" when no one is logged on. May need to restart
for effect.

Greetings --

Win2K does this by design. This behavior can be changed by a
registry edit.

How to Enable the NUM LOCK Key for the Logon Screen
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q154529

Additionally, Win2K, like WinNT before it, stores the last state
of both the NumLock and CapsLock keys. If a user logs out with the
keys on, then they'll be turned on automatically the next time that
user logs back in.
