I was exporting an access database to a text file so i could use with a
varialbe date program. When I exported the database all 6's changed to 2's. I
have tried to repeat this but it has not happened again. This has caused my
company to lose a valued customer. I'm looking for any type of reason or why
this happened. Our customer is looking for us to give them a reason and
solution. Does anyone have any idea on this matter?

I've never heard of this happening - but without knowing the details
it's not worth speculating on the cause. In particular:

-versions and service packs of Windows and Access

-the name and type of each field in the query or table you were
exporting

-if it's a query, the SQL

-exactly how you exported it

-which fields were affected and exactly how the data was changed.
(For instance, there are real differences between (a) "6" changing to
"2" in a text field, (b) 6 changing to 2 in a Long or Integer field,
(c) 678 changing to 278 in a Long or Integer, and so on.

-how the problem was discovered and what software was used to examine
the text file.

The fact that you can't reproduce the problem makes me wonder whether
it was caused by malware or human intervention.

All 6's were changed in zipcodes, barcodes, and street addresses. I simply
exported using access export feature as a comma delimited text file.
