Hello,

Is there any benefit from using numbers instead of text when making
fields? In all the examples below, the datatype could be a text value
or number. When would I want to use a number vs. text value?

Township
Range
Section
Tract
Street Number
Lot Number
Zip
Depth in Feet
Total Surface Area in Feet
Acres

TIA.

Phil.

To do math. Zip codes and telephone numbers contain digits but you never add
or subtract them.

Except when performing cabalistic and numerological operations. See my
forthcoming thriller The Alexander Graham Bell Code.

Is that the episode where he and Watson go in search of the formulat behind
the bell curve?

Nope. This is work stuff. I'm done with schoolin' (see * below). It's all
OJT and NG's now.

* Although if anyone can recomend a good online Access class program that's
reasonably priced - I'd be interested

Karl,

Thanks for your reply. I realized that AFTER I did the post. Next time will give
it some MORE thought before I post it up. But Thanks anyway.
