Numbering of Surveys

I need to individually number approximately 3,000 surveys, each consisting of
approximately 18 pages, with the survey number repeated on each page.
for example:
survey form #1 page 1, #1 page 2 .......; form #3000 Page 1, form #3000
pages 2 to 18.
Ideally this number will be recorded in the footer of the document and
automatically rollover rather than ahving to manually insert the number.
any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/NumberDocs.htm will show you how to
establish the number.

For inserting in the header or footer, consider a custom document property
or one of the ideas at http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Repeating_Data.htm

For 3000 copies of an 18 page document, go to a commercial printer. They can
do the numbering for you, and the cost will be a fraction of what 54000
pages of printout would cost you.

A good example of answering the need, rather than the question!
