Numbering in Value (Y) Axis Scale

HELP! For two days now I've tried to figure out how to
number the (Y) Axis scale. I simply want it to go from
2100 at the top and go to 1100 at the bottom. I tried
going to the number and entering [=1100]"Min";[=2100]"Max"
and that didn't work either. Here is a sample of what I
am trying to do:

Total Shipments

"legend box" 2002
"legend box" 2003
"Value (Y) axis Scale"
2100
2000
1900
1800
and so on...
Jan Feb Mar Apr May and so on... Totals
Then on the bottom under the months:
2002 ---> Total
2003 ---> Total

I'm sure it's something "really" simple that I'm missing
and I would appreciate any suggestions.

To change the scale of the axis, simply double click on the axis, click
on the Scale tab, then type in the minimum value (1100), the maximum
value (2100), and the major unit (perhaps 100) in the appropriate boxes.

I "knew" it was something simple - duh! I kept trying to
check mark next to things etc. I guess that's a good
question...why "do" or "would" you check mark next to them
if in this case I just left everything un marked? And is
there a way to make totals at the end of my example as I
put in the original question?

BTW, I found your website before I got here. Excellent
site! And I wrote to you about this same question at your
yahoo addy. Please dis-regard now - odviously.:)
