Numbering equations using frames

Hi,

in order to number equations in a text, I assigned text frames to the
Caption style template and aligned these frames to the right side of the
column letting the paragraph flow around it. Works great but unfortunately,
the text within the frame is aligned to the top of it - therefore the
numbering is not in line with the equation. Is there a way to center the text
frame to the paragraph, or the text vertically within the text frame?

Further, is there a way to assign different styles to different types of
captions? The frames mentioned above are not supposed to be used with Figures
or Tables.

Thank you,

Fabian

Hi Fabian

You can number equations and control the alignment of the equations and the
numbers by creating a borderless 3-column 1-row table for each equation,
centering the equation in the middle cell, making the width of the first and
third cells equal, and right-justifying the number in the third cell.

Hi Pesach,

thank you for your answer. I was aware of this workaround - but it is just
so inconvenient...

regards, Fabian

It is less inconvenient if you store the one-row table with a dummy equation
and sample caption as an AutoText entry.
