Numbering Detail Records

Hello:

Is there anyway to create a control that will sequentially
number the records in a report? For example:

Number Name Sex
1 Archie M
2 Sue F

This report is bound to a query. If this can be
accomplished at the report level, can it be done in the
query?

Place a textbox in the detail section. Set its Control Source to

=1

Set its Running Sum to OverAll or OverGroup as desired. This option is 2
spaces below the Control Source in the Properties sheet.
