Numbered list without periods after the numbers

In FrontPage, possibly using CSS, is there anyway to do a
numbered list (<ol>) that does not have the period
following the number? I would like to do line numbers
for a poem and do not want periods...

I don't think so. At least, there's no obvious provision
for this in the CSS spec.

You'll probably need to display your list as a two-column
HTML table, with hand-typed numbers in the first column
and your text in the left column.
