Beck said:On Home Premium I have 4 important/recommended updates.
I have not included usual updates like defender definitions, junkmail
definitions and new drivers. The 4 I mention are actual patches.
1) Problem with phishing filter in IE7
2) Problem with error reporting
3) Problem with activation
4) Problems with application compatibility
I've got these:
Update for Windows Vista (KB929685)
Install this update to address an issue that may prevent high-definition
audio devices from initializing after resuming the system from a sleep or
hibernation state. After you install this item, you may have to restart
your computer.
Update for Windows Vista (KB929735)
Install this update to resolve an issue that prevents Windows Search from
returning a complete set of results when a search is performed using the
date option and a non-Gregorian calendar is in use.

specific to certain version of Vista?
Well the first one is for Realtek High Definition onboard sound, so is
hardware specific. I really don't know about the second one. Here's more
details about it:

Hugh Wyn Griffith said:VISTA gets updates when you first install it, does it not -- I wonder
if they show up like later ones?

Hugh Wyn Griffith said:I was giving you the answer to your question -- it depends on you using
two things: advanced search by date and a non-Gregorian calendar -- by
quoting from the opening of the document you gave the link to:

Hugh Wyn Griffith said:And I was indicating the answer -- your reference KB article does not
mention hardware or specific versions of VISTA but it does mention two
prerequisites which I gave.
