I am trying to get some information on the number of people who currently
have/use PowerPoint in the US. Does anybody know where I can find some
statistics that speak to that topic?
That's a difficult question. PowerPoint is sold as a part of the Microsoft
Office Suite. You might be able to contact Microsoft Press Room, to find out
how many copies of Office 2007 and 2003 etc. have been sold. But then: How
many of the old versions are still being used? How many discarded their old
version and work with the new version only? How many have PowerPoint on
their computer, because it was part of the package, but don't use it? It
will be difficult to find out the actual number of PowerPoint users. I've
read an estimate some years ago, that 30 million presentations are produced
daily - but that might be a lot more meanwhile.
