Number Issue

I inherited a database when I came on board here, and I am quite the rookie when it comes to Access. We have our signal inventory in a Table format, but it puts them in the order as follows:
1-10, 100-109, 11, 110-116, and 12-99 in that order. I have tried to fix this problem numberous times to no avail. The numbers to intersections correspond to hard files, so it is vitally important they stay with the appropriate fields. I can get them to ascend and descend in the proper order but only the number column changes fields, the rest stay where they are. I hope I described this well enough, it has been quite confusing thus far.

It sounds as though your number is being stored in a text field, not a
numeric one. The behaviour you describe is consistent with sorting "text"
numbers.
