Number format lost when imported

In Excel I have a number squared or a nunber to the nth.
The nth is small and on the upper right side in Excel.
When I imported an Excel file to Access 2002, the nth
becomes a normal number. I tried to change the Data Type
to Text and Number, but I couldn't find any options. Is
there a way to keep the original formatting in Access or
configure Access to let me fix the number to stay on the
right upper corner? Thank you for your help.

Hi Shao,

Text in Excel worksheets can have different formatting applied to
individual characters, but this is not possible in Access datasheets and
textboxes. And Access text and memo fields basically only store plain
text.

One solution is to format the field and textbox in a Unicode font that
includes superscript digits; they're at positions &H2070 to &H2079 in
the character set and are included in the Lucida Sans Unicode font that
comes with recent versions of Windows. Another is of course to use a
standard plain-text notation such as 5^2 for 5 squared.
