Remove the floppy disk from the drive ??

I experienced the same problem and it had nothing to do
with a floppy. I ended up reinstalling W2K over itself
and it fixed that problem. The downside was that I had to
reinstall all the programs that I had just finished
installing. Attempting to copy the ntoskrnl.exe file from
a known good copy (there are two on your system if you'll
do a search for them) did not fix the problem for me.
Hope that helps.
