Ok...my system boots up fine but this error message keeps
coming up as soon as the event log starts on boot up. It
has to be a registry error only otherwise I couldn't boot
up. Right? The source is Application popup ID 26, but i
never see the popup. %System%\system32\ has the
ntoskrnl.exe as does the DLLcache. 1.83MB 5.1.2600.1151
(xpsp2.030422-1633)and no viruses. So, do I need to find
the registry entry for the event and delete it?

I searched ntoskrnl.exe in Google and found a thread that
included this:

"99% of the times I have seen this is when there is
nothing wrong with NT or the disk at all. It almost
always is with the boot.ini settings not going
to the right partition. This can result from a number of
reasons including one drive in a multi-drive setup being
offline causing the rdisk number to be off one. Reseating
the connectors on the drive/motherboard may fix it.

hopefully this will start you in the right direction - you
might try the Google search yourself and see what else is
mentioned - there were several results I didn't look at.

I've been doing a little googling myself on the subject
but havn't seen that one. I'll definitely look into it.
Reading that reminded me that I have a minor problem with
a memory stick I put in. Apparently the chip density was
wrong for my motherboard and it sets off the BIOS memory
problem alarm on bootup every once in a while. That being
the only noticeable problem I leave it in. I'll try
removing it and check my connections while I'm there then
see what happens. Thanks!
