With XP SP1 currently installed, I changed the Bios
settings for the Athlon XP 2600+ to run at 3200+ speed.
The initial boot progresses to the operating system boot
then shows an error message in DOS that the ntoskrnl.exe
file has a problem or is corrupted and needs to be
reinstalled. After turning back the bios settings to
their oringinal state XP boots up fine. Any ideas on why
this happens or suggestions on overcoming this problem?

Now THAT's funny! Thanks.

There are numerous reports of this setting being very
successful. Is the beforementioned condition only
possible with a processor overload?

A number of external factors can affect the success of overclocking
(motherboard, etc.), not to mention the fact that you can have very
different results from processors of the same type/speed.
