hi i have xp pro running on a amd1300 prosesser maxter hard drive the chip
over heated and had to buy new motherboard and prosesser i put it all
together and then at boot i get the ntldr missing and it wont boot i tryed
install with repair but it still does this i tryed fixboot but did not fix it
help please is there a simple answer

Hi

Try this:

Boot with your XP CD in the cd drive. Select 'To repair..' by pressing 'R'.
When in the Recovery Console type the following:

"copy X:\i386\ntldr C:\" - without the quotes.

Where X is the letter of your CD drive and C is the letter of your system
drive. Take the XP CD out of the cd drive and reboot into XP normally.

Am experiencing the same problem with XP Home. Celeron D 2.66 /S478 Gigabyte
661 FXM uATX motherboard.
Will the rebooting with the CD "repair" function work here too?
