I recently messed up when I tried to make a clean install of windows. My PC
is custom built, so I should of loaded a floppy with drivers then let the XP
disk run.
As it was a clean install I thought i could get away with just running the
XP installation disk.
My PC crashed during the process but survived but it lost a few drivers and
and also uses the standard drivers.
I tried to run another install today but when i loaded the floppy disk I got
the mesage - NTLDR is missing.
Would be grateful if someone could tell me how I can make a clean install
before I use a hammer.
Many thanks.

Chazz, you must load the floppy disk at the very beginning of the clean
install. It will ask you if you want to load drivers and to press F6 to
start the process. You can load the floppy
at that time. I would format your drive as well and get rid of that
previous XP install.

It shoudn't be neccessary to do a clean install as the NTLDR problem
is a known issue. There is a step by step resolution here to it and
other boot problems.

Hope this helps.
