Bill

I have a home network of 2 pc's both with Windows 2000
professional operating systems, connected through Lynksis
DSL router from cable input. As of yesterday, one pc will
no longer boot stating "NTLDR is missing - RPL-ROM-FFC:5
not found". It states to insert boot disk in 'A', press
any key to continue but messages 'invalid system disk'.

I am by no means a computer whiz, in fact quite novice
therefore any assistance will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Probably you will have to boot from the Win2k CD to fix this. If the
startup process on your computer does not give you this option, you may have
to change your BIOS setup to boot from the CD - usually you access setup by
pressing Delete or F2 during the computer's power on self test. Make sure
the computer is properly recognizing your hard drive - if it is not, you may
have a HD hardware failure. If your hard drive is OK, set the boot device
options to boot from the CD as the first device. After Windows setup
finishes loading drivers, select Repair the existing installation. You will
want to re-install service packs and updates after the repair. See:
