I could realy use some help on this one

I know all the fixes, replaceing NTLDR and doing the bootfix, but none
of this works, My questions is causes this error in the first place i
have one computer that this is happening to almoust every other week
the only fix is to reinstall windows XP pro, is this a hardware isue
"harddrive going bad or motherboard isue, or is just win xp.

It seem to happen around file transfers when doing updates or copying
files from one place to a nother, cdrom to harddrive was the last time

Any ideas would be helpfull
Thanks
