Help!! During boot up I get the NTLDR file is missing.
When I boot from the Win2000 CD and go through the repair
process of copying the file from the CD(318728) I keep
getting access denied message even though I'm logged on as
the Administrator. Any suggestions?

.
Thanks, I tried that already but did it again just to make
sure. Still have the same problem. Access denied when I
try to copy ntldr from the cd to the root.

Can you just copy over a boot.ini file to get past the repair process or is
access still denied. If you are not touching the WINNT directory it may be
a different admin account from when the server was first built. I had this
issue and had to dig way back in memory (mine) to get in. HTH.

Still access denied when I tried to overwrite the boot.ini.
Don't know about the different Admin password but I will
find out. Thanks, Paul

If you are able to login in Recovery Console then there is nothing wrong
with your password. Instead it appears that someone has been messing
with file permissions and have removed Administrator and maybe also
System from some files...something that should never be done. If that is
the case the only thing I know to do is either a second install of
Windows on another partition so you can change the permissions and copy
the file. Or you can move this drive to another system and change the
permissions.

I think that Leonard Severt is right. If you can login to the recovery console then it nothing to do with the password. It has something to do with the permission (as long it is NTFS ). try to make another partition, install windows, boot using that window. and modify the permission. or try using the window setup, do not choose the repair option at the first prompt, choose to setup window. when it detect the previous installation of window, choose to repair that.
