Can anybody explain to me in laymans terms how to network 2 PC's with my
"cable set top box" from NTL; Can you tell me please what hardware and
software is required for the task? and if possible a blow by blow account
of how to do it? The PC's are running XP including SP2: 1 Pc is 1200MHZ
Athlon with 20 Gig of memory spare and 512MB DDR RAM; the other is an Athlon
3200MHZ with 100 Gig memory spare and 512MB DDR RAM:

You need to run cat5 from the STB to the WAN port of a broadband router.

The WRT54G http://www.linksys.com/international/product.asp?coid=6&ipid=452
is a broadband router + 4 port 10/100 switch + 802.11g access point. THIS IS
WHAT YOU NEED IF YOU WANT TO SHARE INTERNET ACCESS for both wired and
wireless devices and do not have an existing broadband router.
