Greetings from Ireland,
Since first discovering over 18 months ago that program of great
potential called NTFSDOS Professional, I have spent 3 or 4 spells of a
fortnight or so at a time trying to incorporate it into a bootable
floppy from which I could run the command-line kaspersky anti-virus
scanner on an ntfs partition.
The fact that I am now writing this plea for help shows that all my
efforts have failed.
I have tried running NTFSDOS Professional both with and without the
spawn switch /s
NTFSDOS Professional boots ok whether or not i use /s but no way can i
then load the kaspersky command-line scanner avpdos32 without all
sorts of gobblegook memory error messages
Now it might seem reasonable to conclude that i have got the switches
for the kaspersky mixed up with the /s switch for NTFSDOS Professional
but no as i have double-checked the syntax.
In fact using the mcafee command-line scanner example on the download
site of NTFSDOS Professional i can not get that to work either.
In fact I can not get any of the anti-virus command-line scanners to
work with a fully licensed version of NTFSDOS Professional coupled
with the extra download update-patch from the NTFSDOS Professional
website that is supposed to rectify the problem
I have failed also with non-kaspersky command-line scanners such as
the following:-
pcscan (pcilin)
scanpm (mcafee)
NAVDX (norton)
SWEEP (Sophos)
Does anybody know of anybody who has actually acheived this feat.
Specifically i need the autoexec.bat, config.sys and the sequence of
commands to make ANY of the above-mentioned command-line anti-virus
scaanners scan an ntfs partition.
Please DO NOT assume ANY knowledge on my part.
I've had some help on this before that was not sufficiently
idiot-proof for me.
NTFSDOS Professional webpage is not much of a help.
DOS4g is something that i dont understand!
Please help if you can.
Sincerely
Patrick Sharkey <[email protected]>
