I had to reload Windows XP (virus). It created the partitions NTFS. What is
better NTFS or FAT32. If FAT32, how do I change it.

NTFS is a more secure file system, while fat32 would allow you to easily
access the drives in case the OS would not load. IMHO, NTFS is much better.
As to changing back to fat32, you could not do that without either starting
from scratch, delating the partition and re-formatting again, or use a third
part app like partition magic.

I read the other day on someone`s XP web site that NTFS allowed smaller
clusters(my 250GB drive has 4KB clusters for less waste).
Might do a google search if you want more details.

I don't remember having the choice of NTFS or FAT32 when I reloaded Win XP.
If I want FAT32 (maybe next time) how do I get Windows XP to load it that
way

My XP home edition i use NTFS, and my XP pro. is FAT32.

I don't know the difference, but it both works fine to me.

Perhaps because your drive is larger than 32GB? Windows XP won't
create a FAT32 partition larger than 32GB.

FDISK and Format it as FAT32 with a boot disk from an older
version of Windows before starting XP setup. But I don't
recommend this. NTFS is better, especially with larger drives.
