Is there a way to change ntfs back to fat? I don't want to reformat and
reinstall xp. I need to be able to duel boot to win98. Anyone got any Ideas.

Thank you

I'm pretty sure it's a one way trip from what I've read :-((

Absolutely no way whatsoever. And it's 'dual' - 'duel' means to fight.

That's not quite true.

You cannot revert to FAT32 with the tools provided in Windows. With a
third party program like PartitionMagic, you can convert it back.

However, with a third party program, you can keep the NTFS, shrink the
existing partition, make a new FAT32 partition in the newly freed
space, install Windows 98 there and set up a dual boot.

But remember that if you do this, win98 won't be able to read the NTFS
partition without special drivers....

thank you I think that is the way I'll go

Yes, but not within XP itself. You need a third party program like
Partition Magic version 8.
