NTFS hard disk not recognized

I am running Win2K Server /w SP3. I have Drive C for
operating system and drive D for data, both formatted NTFS.

After a clean install of the operating system on Drive C,
wildows will not recognize drive D. CHKDSK reports "The
type of the file system is NTFS. Unable to determine
volume version and state. CHKDSK aborted."

Disk Management shows the drive as online, Healthy, and
Active. The file system is blank (sb NTFS). The Boot
sector is the same as the backup boot sector and to make
sure I copied the backup boot sector to the primary, no
change.

The system as configured as a Domain Controller with
Active Directory before the system was re-installed. The
re-installed system is now in the same state, but still
does not see the drive.

I would appreciate any help or feedback to get this matter
resolved.
