Can corrupt or missing files be replaced so that access
to a drive with windows XP operating system be used again?

Try this,put your xp cd in your cd-rom drive then open
your run comand prompt and type in sfc /scannow and press
ok if files are missing this should replace them.
Note: their is a space between sfc and the forward slash

any suggestions for those of us who got XP installed on purchase of PC? I am getting a "winlongon.exe-Entry Point not found" error and now I'm continually rebooting. Of course, I did not back up )-:
I don't have an XP CD because it came with the pc and from what I can tell, that will be the only way to fix this mess.
