Getting the following error:

Source: NTFRS
Category: None
Event ID: 13555

The File Replication Service is in an error state.....

Suggested courses of action include restoring system
state from backup. Does it matter what backup tape I
restore from as this error wasn't detected until recent?

I added another domain controller to provide redundancy;
however, it looks like things aren't redundant yet. No
DFS or other issues.

Is there some sort of trick(s) that I can try? This is
apparently our only domain controller, so I really want
to be 100% sure about things or else it will be my butt
in the chair for the next 96 hours till things are fixed.

HELP!

Darin,

which Service Pack are you running? How much free disk space is available on
your systemdrive?

Christian

Service Pack 4. Free space is about 6GB

Sorry Darin two other questions:

Have you relocated the SYSVOL Share to another drive?

Do both DC have the same contents of the SYSVOL Share?

Christian

Manually created share SYSVOL on DC #2 & manually stopped
and started NTFRS service. Received the following in the
event viewer.

FRS error status code is FrsErrorMismatchedJournalId
Event ID: 13552

OK, than try the following:

-Backup all the policies on the Sysvol share(the folders with the HEX
Names - e.g.{31B2F340-... ) with a simple file copy to a TEMP folder.
-Then try to do the steps described in the following article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;315457
The article uses to computers "Hub1" and "Hub2" - just replace "Hub1" with
"DC1" and "Hub2" with "DC2" for your scenario.
When instructed to copy the "good SYSVOL" (Step 10), copy the folders which
you backed up earlier.

I suggest you make a system state backup before taking these steps...

Hope this helps.

Finally have a moment to let you know that it worked.
Both DCs are replicating between each other, and life is
good for the moment.

Thanks again, Christian
