I have a 2 computer network, main and laptop. The
computers are connected to a router, and the router is
connected to the Internet via a broadband modem
connection. I have no problem connecting to the internet
with both computers, however, I cannot seem to share
resources between the two computers. I can ping the
laptop and the router from the main and I can ping the
router from the laptop but I cannot ping the main from
the laptop.I am running XP Professional on main and XP
Home on the laptop. Both computers are in the same work
group, MSHOME. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

First guess: you have ICF enabled on the main PC. Disable it
permanently.

Thanks for the response but I'm uncertain what ICF is.

ICF = Internet Connection Firewall, the firewall software built
into XP. ICF is designed for simple end-node use only, and
inhibits sharing over a LAN.

If you can't find ICF directly, start at XP's Help facility;
that should point you to ICF. {OK, this is a bit of a commercial
for XP's Help, which is much better than Help on previous WinDuz.}
