The ntds.log keeps eating up space no my server. I have a
network with 1 Domain. Is this log necessry if not how can
I turn it off.

Melvin,

Are you referring to files located in the %systemroot%\NTDS folder?

If so, they are necessary and cannot be deleted. If you have done a lot of
user account creation and deletion, you can defrag the database offline
following this article:
